We are
in the beginning stages of a project that hopes to present a means to express and
experience anew the living Faith outside the "walls" of our current circumstances. The Red Hook Project comes out of the sponsorship of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island and a new kind of monastic-style society or intentional-community currently being organized known as the "Imago Dei Society." The Project is our attempt to develop different ways of "doing church" and engaging in Christian spiritual formation focused on the unique environment of the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn. We do not negate the Tradition of the Faith (that which has survived through multiple cultures, persecutions, and various trials for over 2,000 years), but wish to live into it and find the means to pass it on to emerging generations.

For the sake of our Life in Christ in
these times and for those who do not have a knowledge of God, we seek
ways to be the Body of Christ with authenticity and integrity all within the contexts of "Networked societies," Post-Christendom, and Postmodernism. Join us as we live into the Tradition, deepen our relationship and experience with God through Jesus Christ, and be the image of God in our world.

As part of the overall vision for the Project of the Imago Dei Society, we begin with three efforts:

1. ImagoDei NYC - Is a developing way to engage the presence of God individually and in community that continues the worshipful endeavor within the Anglican tradition. We seek to be more fully the imago Die - the image of God - among those people we encounter daily.

2. The Residence - The living/forming intentional-community of people who commit for a time to give themselves to the ancient practices of Christian formation in the Anglican Tradition.

3. The Red Hook Space - Will be a warehouse-type space located in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn and is planned to be a place to be used for a variety of purposes. It will be a space for the creative and worshipful endeavor embodied within all of us, particularly for those in the creative arts. It will be a work space, a gallery space, a performance space, and the place where Imago Dei in Red Hook gathers.

The idea for The Red Hook Project has its foundation in St. Paul's Church in the Carroll Gardens and Red Hook neighborhoods of Brooklyn, NYC. We are forever thankful for the creative graciousness and the wonderful medium in which to develop and experiment with new ways of living the Faith in new times. None of this would be possible without the generous sponsorship of Bishop Provenzano of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island.

"Mission is about finding out what God is doing and joining in."
(Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury)

"Glory to God whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more that we can ask or image. Glory to him from generation to generation in the Church, and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever." (BCP; Eph. 3:20-21
